Listening to Brian Doerksen’s “Holy God” and thinking about my earlier post (Do we REALLY believe Jesus?).

The last verse goes like this:

Romancing, pursuing
Reclaiming to restore
Releasing hearts, transforming lives
The lion’s mighty roar

As I was worshiping the Lord, I came to a realization. It’s all at once an AHA! moment and REALLY a no-brainer.

God is not going to do what I want.

He is, however, eager to do what HE wants.

What does He want?

Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

“Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

His Will is done, always, whether its ours or not. That’s a hard lesson that my own pastor is working to teach me. The best thing is to unite ourselves so fully to Him that we want what He wants! It has been a test for me to learn to submit to Him, and say “Okay, Lord–if You want this, I’m going for it.” even if it means things will get hairy.

I'm a laid-down lover of Jesus Christ. I write about my King and His Kingdom, the Bible, revival, healing, prophecy, faith, and more... plus I throw in recipes, tips, news and politics items, reviews, and all sorts of random things just for fun. Until recently, I was known as "Kathi"... but my name is now Kay. It's a good, God thing... :) The opinions expressed in this blog are mine and mine only - not necessarily shared by my husband, our church, my employers, or anyone else.
