Good for you. I've turned the cupboard under the stairs into a pantry - putting up shelves through old masonry brick was a challenge yesterday - and have started taking stuff to the charity shop in my wheely-trolley.

Having a major sort-out of the entire house as I'm off work this week, and we haven't seen the diningtable in weeks; it's covered in cats and paperwork. I usually take the first week in January off for decluttering and deepcleaning, and it's too cold for gardening.

Tomorrow is scrubbing the entire kitchen now that I've pretty much emptied the cupboards, and listing all the food contents in the house on a spreadsheet for meal-planning. Next will be tidying, dusting and vacuuming throughout, evicting spiders as I go, steamcleaning the shower, ironing (swear), re-arranging the study with some of my Christian books, and sorting through all my clothes and books for the charity shop. Then I can return to work on Monday with some semblance of control.

I'm about to deep fry a few things...

Been cleaning like a mad woman (I've got a BIG THING to pray about today and so I'm cleaning and praying.)

I've taken out six bags of trash so far, mostly old newspapers and bits of wrapping and junk mail. Hurt my back picking up the cat litter box. Bleah. Still have the kitchen to do. I'm hoping I'll be able to vaccuum after the pain pill takes effect.

"I’ve come to the conclusion that there should be a single, all-inclusive kitchen gadget - a deep-fry/blender/food processor/grill/bread machine would be VERY nice."

In our house, it's called a Wife ;)
