Several heresy-hunter/ODM type websites claim that “Jesus never said there would be a rise in “apostolic” ministry during the end times! No one rising up, healing the sick, raising the dead, casting out demons, doing assorted signs and wonders. He never said we’d be forerunners, never said a new breed would rise up… (etc.)”
So here’s a thought: Jesus said we WOULD do those things (see the tail end of Mark 16). He never said we WOULDN’T do those things. He never said we SHOULDN’T do those things. He said we should and He said we would.
The ONLY reason there’s a “new breed” rising up in the church (if you’d like to call it that) is that the Body hasn’t been doing what the Lord gave us to do. If the Church had been obedient all this time, all these signs and wonders and miracles would be pretty common-place…
So the heresy hunters are actually pointing people toward deliberate disobedience and rebellion against Christ.
Now there’s a scary thought arising before breakfast.
