Most people think of VistaPrint as the “Business Card” place. However, they’ve got a huge array of other products, including Address Stamps, brochures, car magnets, t-shirts, calendars – you name it. You can even get a fun caricature of yourself (or your boss) made! They’ve got everything you need to promote your business, and can make Christmas shopping VERY simple!

The custom address stamps can be had for 50% off right now. Just use coupon code Stamps50.

Stamps can make your life a lot easier. Got a lot of checks to sign? Create a stamp with your account number and “For Deposit Only” on it. Hate peeling and sticking return address labels? Make a stamp for it. If you buy 100 Christmas presents, you’ll have to write “From” 100 times – unless you make a stamp of just your name. Does your kids school, camp, or daycare require that absolutely EVERYTHING be labeled? Get a stamp with your child’s name on it.

You can also get signature and date stamps made, or a stamp that says “Paid” or “Please Pay This Amount”. Or “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Birthday” or “Eat More Chicken”. You can even get address stamps made with your logo on it. There’s even an option to upload your own design.

Go wild!

Let’s face it – we Americans have spent too much money and lived beyond our means.

Now it’s crunch time – Wall Street doesn’t look good. Homes are in foreclosure all over the country (but wait – the government might just bail you out!). Banks – even historic institutions – are holding fire sales. Everybody’s holding onto their hats and hoping for the best.

Even if the government bails out the banks, the average consumer is going to feel the pinch. A large part of the pinch comes because the banks over-extended credit to people. Now they’re paying compounded interest on debt they shouldn’t have taken on to begin with. My prediction? A bunch of bankruptcies are about to be filed. But it shouldn’t be so.

There’s no “easy” way out… but there are some things you can do to protect your credit AND meet your obligations. There are experts who can help you – like Consumer Credit Counseling – and a variety of ways that you can consolidate debt in a loan that reduces your interest rate and payments, enter into a structured payment plan (some of which suspend interest accrual), and even settle the debts for less than you actually owe (which should be a last resort).

There’s a very helpful website from <a href="a href="http://www.bills.com/consolidate-debt/">Bills.com that offers bountiful information on debt, repayment options, maintaining good credit, and much more. There’s GREAT info about budgeting. There’s even a debt boot camp! It’s good information for every consumer to know… especially now.

I just ran across a new site for people who freelance (and for people who need freelancers!) – The Freelance Nation lists freelance work opportunities. Very cool!

The Freelance Nation offers an easy-to-use interface that allows users to search for freelance projects by type or location. I very quickly found a couple of writing gigs that I’ll be checking into. There are a number of cities from around the US, and it looks like they’ll be adding new cities in the future. With many people out of work or seeking to supplement their income, there’s no doubt that The Freelance Nation will benefit freelance and contract workers.

The Freelance Nation benefits small businesses by offering an inexpensive way to contract both large and small tasks to freelancers. There are 23 categories and hundreds of sub-categories of jobs – plus employers can search for potential freelancers directly. If you own a home business, this is a great way to contract out those “little” jobs without actually hiring a 9-5 employee! Any sort of business will benefit from the creative staffing opportunity here – you could contract out short-term jobs, or hire a temporary employee quickly if someone gets sick. The possibilities are endless!

You can check out this list of freelance jobs and profile example to see how the site works, and post questions in the Freelance Forum. You might also wish to view the FAQ.

I just ran across a really cool thing… Zion Oil and Gas Website is sponsoring Christians United for Israel’s (CUFI) ”Night to Honor Israel”. I like the opening text on CUFI’s site:

The Bible commands us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6), to speak out for Zion’s sake (Isaiah 62:1), to be watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem (Isaiah 62:6) and to bless the Jewish people (Genesis 12:3).

The Night to Honor Israel is an American event, held in cities across the country. There’s a complete list on the website of past and future events, including testimonies from the past events. Apparently there was a NTHI in Charlotte back in February… we would have attended if we’d known about it!! Hopefully there will be another in the future. Ken and I most definitely bless Israel and honor the Hebrew roots of Christianity!!

Hopefully this press release will help to get the word out. Please link to this, and spread the word!

SocialSpark is a sort-of-like Pay Per Post on steroids. PPP’s premise was, “find an advertiser, and if you and they are compatible, write about their stuff. Get paid.” In fact, PPP is paying me to write this bit on Social Spark (same folks run both sites). Kind of cool, eh?

Social Spark’s for-public website is good. The only thing I’d change is the light gray background. Makes it hard to read. Once you get signed up (EASY) and logged in, the site is very, very busy. Lots of stuff, including stuff that moves. I know it’s cool to have Flash and all, but come on, guys… it’s not that cool.

Other than those minor annoyances, SS is a rather good way for bloggers to make a few extra bucks (no one’s getting rich off this but it does pay the hosting fees and then some). It’s a great way for advertisers to promote their stuff, too. Social Spark has a code of ethics requiring bloggers to disclose that they’re being paid, bloggers may only post on things they know, everyone sees what everyone’s doing, and MOST IMPORTANT, posting with Social Spark won’t trash your google pagerank because they use nofollow in their links. Awesome!

I haven’t really done much lately with either PPP or Social Spark, but I plan to. You should too! If you’re interested in Social Spark, just sign up from their main page.

They offer network security, virtual administration, secure management of your network, and persistent secure connectivity. This is for computer networks that span multiple locations. Uplogix sells an appliance called Envoy, which offers these services even when the primary network connection is down or unavailable (it sounds too good to be true, but they’re serious!). Their services reduce the cost and complexity of managing a large network. Check them out!

I just talked to someone on the phone that I’ve known online for quite a long time. It was great to talk to such a kindred spirit. It’s rare that I can say something like, “So-and-so fell out in the Spirit at church last night” without getting an awkward pause (or worse). I so enjoyed talking with her about matters of faith!!

The reason she called was partly to tell me more about an opportunity that she and her husband are undertaking. God laid on their hearts not that long ago, and it is paying off already in a grand way. I’m blessed because they’re blessed! God is performing a miracle there.

I’m not going to say much more about this right now, other than Ken and I are going to very prayerfully consider doing this. I should be getting more information on it tomorrow. If it works the way I think it works, it could absolutely revolutionize our lives. Just being able to pay bills would be GREAT… but the way my friend is talking, it might do much more than that. (and for anyone concerned, no – it’s not MLM or anything like it.)

As an aside, it was prophesied to us back at the turn of the year that God would bring about a financial turn-about to us in February.

I’m about to put the van up for sale. We bought it because I needed to transport the wheelchair; now I don’t need to! And I really don’t need to seat seven people anymore, either. I’d like to buy a cheap-but-good, economical little car.

So I run across Mystic Motors. They bill themselves as a place to buy used cars off eBay. {Buy Used Car} Personally, I think a used car is a much better investment than a new one… I can’t see myself buying a new car even if I hit Publisher’s Clearinghouse or something.

I’ve heard good and bad about eBay motors… I know a couple of people who’ve bought cars with excellent results. But I also saw on People’s Court one time (ok, so I was in bed sick!) a guy who’d bought a car which was a lemon, and he wanted to get his money back but he had, of course, bought the car “as is”. No luck for him.

On the plus side, the Mystic Motors site is fairly easy to use. A couple of clicks and you’re looking at cars. They seem to all be from private sellers (given that they are located all over the country) rather than on a lot. This makes it a bit easier, if you want to examine the car in person rather than taking the seller’s say so. One thing I liked is that many of the cars have a vehicle history report available. This is similar to CarFax but it comes from Experian.

On the down side, Mystic’s main site is full of typos. That alone makes me suspicious of them. They also only list a mailing address on their contact form. There doesn’t seem to be a way of reaching a human being via telephone or email. That made me say hmmm.

So – I might poke around a little and see if I find a car that I like, and watch to see how to auctions go and what sellers get as feedback on their cars. And I might consider putting the van up for sale on eBay, too
